Covid-19 Practices and Protocols

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and until further notice, we will be operating slightly differently, but please be assured that we are following all government guidelines to ensure that you can book with confidence.

Please read this document in conjunction with our Booking Conditions and Privacy Policy, and Covid-19 Risk Assessment, and contact us if you have any questions.

Cancellation

We have relaxed our cancellation policy: should you have to cancel you will not be liable for the deposit or the balance. We can either issue you with a voucher which can be used against a future stay, or with a refund of the amount paid. There is no time limit on the voucher.

Should we have to cancel your stay due to an outbreak of the virus in our area prior to your arrival, we will refund you the full amount; if after your arrival we will refund you pro rata.

Arrival and Departure

On your arrival we will be here to meet you, but we will observe social distancing measures and will not enter the Lodge with you to show you around. The keys will be inside the property, and full instructions for the appliances are available. Should you have any queries please either telephone (07836 580902) or email us via our enquiries page. Should we need to engage with you in person, we will do so outside.

On the day of departure, please vacate the Lodge by 10.00 am and leave the keys inside the Lodge.

What if a guest develops or arrives with Covid-19 symptoms?

If you display signs of the Covid-19 virus while staying, we request that you inform us immediately, immediately self-isolate to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If you are confirmed to have Covid-19, you should immediately return home if you reasonably can. If this is not possible, (for example because you are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), your circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority. Guests should follow government guidance on dealing with possible or confirmed coronavirus infection.

Please note that should you have to extend your stay you will be liable to pay for all affected bookings as a result of that extended stay.

What if we, the hosts, display symptoms of Covid-19?

If we display symptoms of coronavirus, we will advise you and suggest that you leave immediately, and follow government guidelines for self isolating. We will refund you for the unused portion of your stay. After your departure, the appropriate cleaning procedures will be followed.

Insurance

We therefore strongly recommend that you obtain suitable holiday insurance to avoid any loss owing to cancellation.

Changeover Period

We are allowing a minimum 48 hours changeover period.

Cleaning Protocols

We have always operated a very strict hygiene policy, but we will now be carrying out an enhanced deep cleaning regime following the checklist attached, paying particular attention to frequently used items (handles, switches, remote controls), and wiping down and disinfecting surfaces with virucidal cleaner which conforms to EN14476 standard. Hand sanitiser, cleaning cloths and disinfectant will be provided for your use.

The whole property will be sanitised after each stay using a commercial chemical fogging machine and anti-viral sanitiser.

Bed linen, towels, dressing gowns, mattress and pillow protectors are washed at 60 C. On your departure, please strip the bed and put the sheets and towels into the laundry bags provided, and place them next to the washing machine. If there are any spillages which may need treatment with a stain remover please advise.

Pillows, duvet, cushions and throw
s will be removed, disinfected and quarantined after each stay, and replaced with a freshly quarantined set.

Crockery, cutlery, pans, and dishes will be washed in the dishwasher after each stay.

Tourist information booklets, OS maps and DVDs have been removed. If you require specific information about a venue, please advise. We will supply a list of DVDs: if there are any you would like to watch during your stay, let us know and we will leave them in the Lodge for you, freshly sanitised.

We hope these measures will reassure you that we have done all we can to ensure our guests are safe, and look forward to seeing you.
